The housing market is currently heating up after a lull at the end of last year. Buyer activity is on the rise, while sellers are taking longer to move. The Federal Reserve just had its tenth consecutive rate hike of a quarter basis point, but they have suggested that they are done with the rate hikes for now due to a cooling trend.

Over the last seven days, 1,015 single-family homes were sold in three counties in the Tampa Bay area, while only 783 new homes came on the market. Also, pending home sales were over 1,000. This means more homes are selling than are coming onto the market. As a result, sellers have the upper hand.
