Appraiser inspections are good but aren’t enough for an FHA or VA loan.

If you’re going to take out an FHA or VA loan, did you know that the appraiser inspection doesn’t count as a full inspection? To help us all understand this, I sat down with Danielle Evans, who is an appraiser. She fully recommends getting an additional inspection from a third party, and she can tell you why.

You can listen to the full explanation in the video above or skip to individual topics using these timestamps:

0:00 — Introduction

0:27 — A common misconception

0:57 — The biggest difference between an FHA inspection and a home inspection

2:07 — The additional duties that the FHA and VA are requiring

3:03 — Additional duties, like checking attics for fire hazards

4:37 — The importance of still getting an inspection from the third party

5:07 — Wrapping up

If you have more questions about this, don’t hesitate to call Danielle and me. We would love to help you!
